The three pou of the Poutama depict the past, present and future. The transcendence from darkness striving to reach enlightenment.
‘Te Ao Hurihuri, Te Ao Mārama’
The kōrero of the Poutama and each colour is profound. The poutama also signifies the journey of Tane-te-wānanga ascending to the topmost realm, striving to be better by advancing through levels of achievement and progress.
His hikoi was to return 3 kete of knowledge to mankind.
