Current areas of support are:

  • Safeguarding Community of Practice
  • Advisory to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Work Plan

NZ Māori Arts & Crafts Insitute and Te Puia was commissioned by Sport NZ Ihi Aotearoa to host the 2nd Bi-ennual Māori National Sport & Recreation Conference in Rotorua.  The kaupapa of the huihuinga was Hawaiki Mokopuna, the future state, a Māori-defined, governed system of sport & recreation where our mokopuna can thrive as Māori while pursuing excellence.

Te Huinga Tākaro was represented on the Advisory Board and held a keynote space for the Māori National Sport Organisations and the delegates to hear directly from the leaders of Māori Sport.

Ngā mihi nui ki ngā kaiwhakahaere of tēnei huihuinga.  It was a successful event and we look forward to the 2028 conference.
